On-Demand Dry Ice Production from Liquid CO₂

The Kärcher IB 10/8 L2P dry ice blaster produces dry ice pellets inside the machine from a connected liquid CO₂ supply. The Liquid-to-Pellet system removes the need to buy, transport and store conventional dry ice pellets for short, intermittent cleaning tasks.

Its low compressed-air demand and adjustable dry ice output make the IB 10/8 L2P suitable for maintenance teams that need dry ice cleaning available on demand. The process is particularly useful around grooves, bearings, complex contours and stubborn deposits on compatible surfaces.

Required Utilities and Consumables

The unit needs a compatible liquid CO₂ cylinder or supply, compressed air and 220–230 V single-phase electrical power. Liquid CO₂ cylinders need the correct withdrawal arrangement and must be handled, restrained and stored in accordance with supplier and site requirements.

Compressed-air performance must be assessed at the selected operating pressure. Use clean air and account for pressure drop through hoses, filters and fittings.

Liquid CO₂ and dry ice can displace oxygen. Provide adequate ventilation, cylinder restraint, operator training, insulated gloves, eye and hearing protection and any required atmospheric monitoring.
